this one looks like th usual, fat, black spiders we get around here, except it's body is extremely large (the rear seems to be almost the size of a marble!)... from what i can see it seems to be roughly 1cm in length and somewhere between 5-8cm in legspan. i've never seen any of these in webs. found two of em in my doorframe. they're rather fast, don't react to light nor movement (but to wind or draughts) and fled into a hole in the wall when i tried to blow at them to get them to leave their corner. one of them seems to be fatter than the other.
