The pic does no justice. Much larger and can spread pretty far. He appears to have a hard shell but im unsure. He was living in my front porch light.
Hi, this looks like Araneus diadematus, a cross orbweaver. They set up webs near outdoor lights because the lights attract some flying nocturnal insects. It’s a good deal for the spider.
