This is a small black spider with what appears to be an infinity or figure eight symbol on a brown marking. This spider appears to stay still most of the time and was not observed moving.
Found inside a small bathroom on an island off the coast of Maine.

Hi, probably Steatoda borealis. They do tend to be very timid and don’t seem to move very quickly. They’re usually found in safe dark places, like woodsheds and park toilets.
