Its a black and yellow garden spider, but the zigzag in its web is a tell tale sign that its a sub-species of banana spider. something I never thought I would see again. I grew up with these in florida their here in thayer too. Their bites are very painful but ive never heard of them killing anyone. I would kill it. Especially if their are kids around. We think we found one too, a Argiope aurantia or yellow garden spider.
