I was giving my toddler a bath and reaching for a towel when he started saying “bee bee bee” so I looked down and this chick was crawling across a floating bath toy right in front of my kid. I simultaneously squealed, jumped and grabbed the toy and set it on the toilet as quickly as I could. I only took one pic but I was jittery. I think it was in the basket of bath toys so it ended up floating on one in the bath.
Hi, welcome to SpiderID. 🙂 Your Hacklemesh Weaver guess is good, it appears to be a Metaltella simoni and they are sometimes referred to as Hacklemesh Weavers due to their resemblance to spiders in the family Amaurobiidae (Hacklemesh Weavers), even though they are placed in a different family (currently Desidae).
