A harmless grass spider.
Really?? It’s huge!! And seems to know when I’m coming by backs away quickly. I hate spiders.
How large?
I’d say at least a tiny bit biggger than a quarter
Hi.Yes, an Agelenopsis genus grass spider, One of the funnel weavers, and very harmless. They are timid and quickly hide from larger animals.
They don’t see to well but sensitive hairs on their legs, they can tell when you walk by them.
Hard to catch by hand, quick buggers. They can get 40MM across the legs, like straddle a half dollar US coin.
They are a common classroom pet spider for the kids to study and observe.
