Hi, this is a male grass spider, Agelenopsis genus, one of the funnel weavers in the Ageleneidae family.
Not dangerous, capable of biting, but will run first if they can.
Awful quick when spooked, even some challenge for seasoned arachnophiles to catch by hand, a toddler, not likely.
I was about 6 years old before I was caching the similar house spiders. https://spiderid.com/spider/agelenidae/agelenopsis/
Thank you so much I’ve been waiting hoping someone would reply to this. I was worried it was a brown recluse spider. I’ve never seen a spider this big in a house before. Your absolutely sure that’s what it is, a grass spider. It looks like they dwell in the basement and I’ve seen these weird white husks of where their bodies had shed, they are white in color and literally look like one could be inside it with balls on the ends where their feet would be. It’s been pretty distressing to say the least
Can anyone tell me what kind these are I’m worried about being poisonous and I have a toddler. Please help anuone
