Hi Spidergirl, Just my input, I might suggest your little friend is an adult female. I kept a couple in Florida from juvenile and seems they may live 2 years in captivity. Males, a spring spiderling may live a full season and pass with the onset of winter Feeding pet spiders a concern with wild caught prey is possible pesticide contamination. I looked through several scientific papers on the species and they didn’t specify the life span but gave a time frame of when adult spiders were collected (Mar.-Nov.). It seems that after maturity they last less than a year … how long it takes for them to mature can be affected by the climate. I found this regarding a similar genus of Nursery Web Spider native to Europe (Pisaura mirabilis).
