Comments & ID Thoughts
This fellow was outside of a hole in an interior living room wall along with some tangled web. The scale mark in the photo is one inch, his body is about 2/3 inch. He is alive but lethargic and I gave him (her?) some water. No flies today. I'd like to have him identified.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 You have a Crevice Weaver in the genus Kukulcania. There may be a few options in NM for this genus, I’ll have to take a closer look when I have more time to see if I can narrow it down any further. One of the other moderators here has kept them as pets, she’d be more likely than I to know about what is normal as far as their behavior as this genus cannot be found in my region. Maybe she’ll eventually chime in.
Thanks for the info. Now I see that it is a ‘she’. I’ve been giving her water and put her through another photo session to understand her 3-dimensional shape. The next house fly I catch will be hers. When I’m done she’ll go back to her crevice and I’ll make a point of not vacuuming there.
