This spider was found in a rolled up leaf in a shrub at roadside near Tobermory, Ontario Canada. I am certain it is an Araneus genus and I am wondering about Araneus saevus. It has the humps on the abdomen, a wavy dark folium on the abdomen and a vertical white stripe at the front and center of the abdomen (though looks a bit like a cross). I understand it can look a bit like A. nordmanni and both are known to occur in Ontario... This is one of 2 photos of this individual spider
