That is a beautiful Argiope aurantia (Black and Yellow Garden Spider). They make big orb webs with a zigzag pattern in them. Males are much smaller than females. I think this is a female.

This one is indeed female, so keep an eye out for egg sacs! They are essentially harmless to humans, but sometimes the females bite if they think you’re threatening their eggs. 🙂
