Comments & ID Thoughts
I have no clue what kind of spider this is. It was photographed at roughly 3AM (my dad gets home from work around that time). I was already up, and he showed it to me from the inside of the house. I would like to have it identified if possible. Right after the photo was taken, a moth flew into the bottom part of its web, and it had a very fast reaction getting to the moth, then proceed to wrap it up in a web. We’re in North-western Arkansas. Not too humid out but is about 70 Degrees. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

,Hi, thanks for asking! This is an orb web weaver spider. She is probably Neoscona crucifera, a Hentz orbweaver. They make big circular webs to catch flying bugs. The center of the web is a circle too. In your photo her back legs are encircling the circle.
