Comments & ID Thoughts

This spider was found on a leaf in a shrub at the edge of a road in Tobermory, Ontario Canada. It is an obvious crab spider and more specifically a running crab spider. I think with its flat body and pointed abdomen that it is in the Philodromus genus and I am wondering about Philodromus vulgaris?

I agree with Philodromus, I don’t know the species though. It’s a big genus, usually tough to be sure of the species on most of them without genitalia.
