TangledWeb

Hi, she’s a “cross orbweaver,” Araneus diadematus. They aren’t house spiders, but sometimes find their way in. They’re web spiders that mostly eat flying insects. Most of the time the females hang upside down, like yours, waiting to feel the vibrations of fresh food on the web. When it gets too hot and sunny they sit on the edge of the web, preferably with a leaf wrapped around them to stay cool and hidden.
