Comments & ID Thoughts

Found in my house. Small but long legs, translucent light green, two black stripes on the sides of its back. The closest thing I could find was a goldenrod crab spider, but the only thing that seems to be off is the color of the stripes on the back. I can't find any photos of the species with black stripes. And this species is described as being yellow or white. Perhaps the green color could be considered yellow to others, or it could turn more yellow as it ages?

The colors they see around them triggers a chemical change in their bodies where a chemical is released into the cells or withdrawn and excreted. They are able to match patterns a little bit and align their torso and limbs to match the linear patterns in their environment. It can take a couple of hours for the chemicals to be rearranged. The stripes on yours are dark red instead of light red (pink). The base color is shades of white/yellow/green.… Read more »
