This is a beautiful picture of a spider I would not mess with.
This is Latrodectus variolus, a northern black widow.
She almost ended up in my hair…
man, that would have been rough, this is a juvenile female black widow they’ll lose this coloration on their back when they mature. but always remember if a black widow is on you just make sure to not squeeze it down or try to pick it up because they only bite in self-defense so if you were to touch it with your bare hands or accidentally cause it harm it will bite the best thing to do is to pick up a stick or a long object that she can hang onto and get it as far away from your… Read more »
