I am not sure if this is actually a spider, or if it just looks like one. Looks similar in front leg structure to a whip scorpion, but I was unable to find any that look anything like what I have photographed here. If anyone knows what this is and can let me know I would be grateful for the information. Thanks
I believe that i have figured out what kind of spider this is. I think that this is a Long Jawed Orb Weaver. Please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken in its identity.
Hi, Yes, this is one of the long jawed orb weavers, Tetragnathedae family, Tetragnatha genus.
Very harmless, a beneficial spider in agriculture.
Those impressive mouth parts may look intimidating, but lack the strengh to bite skin for the most part.
