Comments & ID Thoughts

I am wondering if this is a brown recluse. The specimen was captured and photographed in a Kirkland 32oz soup container, for dimensional reference. This specimen was found in the living room although similar specimens have been found elsewhere in the house. Two legs of this specimen appear to be missing.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 You have a mature male Ghost Spider. Hibana velox, I think. Definitely not a Recluse.

Note to admin.: Genus at least needed for Hibana, possibly also species for velox. Just need to double check something before filing that far.

Kyle

Filed to genus.

Definitely not a brown recluse. I get these in my house and in my cars almost every day. I believe them to be Metaltella simoni.
