I found both dead after the high winds and rain we had. One was in the bottom of our dry pool we are redoing and the other about 10ft away from pool in the dirt. Can’t find a similar picture to identify. Never seen one until now. Lived here 5 years.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 We’ve had an unusually high amount of ID requests for these the past few days… :/ I need to find out if it’s related to the weather or mating season, it has at least appeared to be all males. These appear to be California Trapdoor Spiders (Bothriocyrtum californicum).
