Hi, it’s Misumena vatia, a banded crab spider. My favorite spider species too! They are fantastic at camouflage, both by positioning their bodies, like your spider was doing, and by changing colors and patterns. They alter the chemical balance in their bodies by releasing a chemical into their blood or by filtering a chemical out of the body. This changes the appearance of color in their translucent bodies.
