I find a ton of these guys on my porch, this is the first one that I’d seen carrying babies (at least that’s what I assume we’re looking at). And which might also explain why I find so many of them!
Hi. this is a wolf spider, Lycosidae family, looks like Tigrosa genus.Possibly Hogna lenta. These are the only spiders that carry their young, harmless, you do have to be gentle and slow around mamas with babies, spooked or threatened, the babies will scatter. I have managed to coax them onto my hand to escort them outside where they prefer. So cool, thank you for the information! Fascinating to see the babies that close up in the video (they’re adorable), and I didn’t know all that about how they carry their young. I see plenty of these spiders outside on my porch, they seem to like it there (maybe because there’s plenty of food by the porch light that’s always on) and they’re more than welcome to stay.
