I believe this is a large Callobius Severes. I found her living in my gate callbox. Had to relocate her as I was afraid she’d electrocute herself. I estimate her at a little over 2 inches. She’s the largest I’ve seen so far.

Hi. Callobius Severes may be a good call, but they just don’t get that big. 1.5 inches with legs is about as large as I have seen these.

I would have also called Callobius Severes, and it’s interesting you point out the size. I grew up in Gig Harbor, which is just south of Port Orchard, and we always called these “Madrona Spiders” as they were frequently found under the bark of firewood in the woodpile. They have a painful bite, which I found out as a very young (~5) boy when I harassed one with a toy tank. They “Giant Spider” counter-attacked and nipped me on the finger. One last point of interest, I now live in Olympia, and very seldom see these guys here, and never as large.
