We have found two of these in our Connecticut home this past week. We normally do not kill spiders or any bugs. We normally put a pasta strainer over them to release them outside. These have been large and very very fast. We’ve had wood spiders and other common harmless Connecticut spiders but we’ve never seen these, especially in our home. The body and head are very thick, as are the legs. The larger of the two spiders’ body was approximately an inch long and about a third of an inch tall, maybe taller. The back legs seem to be about the length of the body as well.
