Hi. these little orb weavers are totally harmless. Gasteracantha cancriformis, the spiny orb weaver.
They will pose zero threat to you or pets.
Although I prefer to leave them undisturbed in their web, they can be freely handled, they don’t bite unless you are a fly.
Sadly,cats may eat these. A favorite spider if you will, welcome at my place any time.
I am in the northwest now, none here and sure miss them.
