Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

Not sure what it is but there were five other females like this one around it within a half meter radius and one brown male, Ive never seen such a big spider with such bright colors before, including legs, was a bit larger than the inside cardboard of a paper towel roll.

It could be a banded orbweaver, Argiope trifasciata. The zigzag band in the web (left of the spider in the pic) is a sign that it’s an orbweaver.

It looks a lot like a Argiope trifasciata like TangledWeb said, in french we commonly call them “araignées bananes”

They’re called banana spiders in US and African countries too! It sounds better in French.
