Comments & ID Thoughts

I believe this tiny cutie was a female Neoscona crucifera. While the pedipalps are not visible in the photo, there is enough diffence in the outward appearance of the two sexes to ID.

Thanks! The site is new so there are lots and lots of common things that aren’t yet represented. I don’t yet have the ability to create taxonony here, the adminstrarator has been doing it as we’re still working out the kinks. So some things may be here but there has been a delay in getting anything new filed.

Thank you. BugGuide is very helpful, I hope this site will one day be as helpful but on an international scale. Most of my background in IDing spiders is related to BugGuide too, so most of the species I have confidence IDing are North American but it’s exciting seeing so many species that are new to me.
