Found on ledge next to house, almost sucked up with a vacuum cleaner but landed o the wall. It is big like an orb weaver but doesn't look like one. I call her Smiley for obvious reasons.

Hi, she looks like Araneus illaudatus, a Texas Orbweaver, to me. They have a shape and pattern that looks like a creepy catoonish smile, just like Smiley. Araneus gemmoides, Cat-faced spiders are similar. She looks different than most orbweaver species because she has angular projections on her “shoulder” area instead of being rounded.
