What kind of spider is this? Its been building webs on my porch the past couple if days, but I haven't wanted to disturb it. Really just curious if its poisonous to humans or not.

Hi, this is a Hentz Orb-weaver, Neoscona crucifera. Like most spiders they have venom but are not considered to be of medical significance to people and are unlikely to bite except in self-defense. They are beneficial and help to keep the insect population in check. 🙂
Thank you! I thought it might be an Orb-weaver after doing some googling, but it is nice to have some real reassurance. I will let it be as I’ve already noticed a reduction in mosquitoes. Thank you again for your help!
