Is this a Hentz Orb Spider? He/she was eating a good size moth this morning. The spider is a very pretty burnt-orange color. How can you tell if a spider is male or female? The picture is blurry, but I can take a new one if needed. Thank you for your time everyone!

Based on the time of year it’s going to be female as the males are consumed after coitus.
Do you know how long she’ll keep her current web? If Hurricane Michael doesn’t blow it down…its suppose to hit our area tomorrow. She’s been in this web for four days now. Based on what you said, sounds like she could be having babies… Thanks for your reply, Spiderz!
She will do the same as y’all and rebuild. She’ll only miss a meal or two in the process. Good luck!
