This was taken today on my deck in Woodstock, Ga. what type of spider is this. My son-in-laws reply was “BIG”. Please help.

Hi, this is a marbled orbweaver, Araneus marmoreus. Yes, the common name could have been, “BIG spider,” since that’s how they are often described.
