Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

This spider is large. Probably the size of two marbles. I’m terrified of spiders so identification would be wonderful!

Hi, she’s not one to worry about. She’s probably Neoscona domiciliorum. She preys mostly on flying insects. She’s big because her eggs take up a lot of space in her abdomen. The males are much smaller. Female orb web spiders like her rarely leave their web. During daytime they rest on the edge of the web, sometimes with a leaf wrapped around them.
