I think it's a Huntsman. He/she has been on our porch for 2 weeks. Large web. Runs fast to edge of web when I approach. Caught a grasshopper, wrapped and ate it for a day then packed up the web and disappeared. Back today with new web.

Hi, she’s an orbweaver, one of the Neoscona genus species. The females have the big webs for catching strong flying insects, like grasshoppers and beetles. They’re nocturnal and take advantage of artificial light from porch lights and windows. The light draws some insects, like moths. In the morning the spider eats her web to recycle the nutrients and possibly gain hydration from condensation. She rebuilds the whole thing later.
