Hi, this looks like a kind of Fishing Spider, Dolomedes striatus. Nice find. 🙂

Willowtytreeee

This one showed up in our house in Joplin MO, husband felt something under his foot & looked down to find 2″s of spider crawling out from under it….if this helps with habitat info, we live in front of open alfalfa crop fields with wooded areas surrounding….never had one this size in the house before now.

That’s a Dolomedes triton with faint/reduced abdominal markings, not a Dolomedes striatus. The stripes on the cephalothorax of D. striatus are straighter and not as close to the edge of the cephalothorax.

Compare to this image of D. triton: https://bugguide.net/node/view/1241086/bgimage
