Comments & ID Thoughts
I wish I could be of help. I spent about a half-hour searching online to come up with nothing that matches this as far as I could see. I thought maybe a funnel weaver, but I didn't see those with striped legs.

A friend shared this, asking what kind it was. I’m asking to see if she knows an approximate size.
Friend says bigger than a nickel, smaller than a quarter.
Now we’re thinking orb weaver. It’s hard to tell the shape from this angle, but the markings (and leg coloring) seem to match a couple Araneus images I’ve seen.
You did a good job, I think it is an orbweaver too. The hairy striped legs, pointed oval abdomen, hanging head-down, and the zigzag band of webbing she was in the process of making are all clues to recognizing an orbweaver. Hopefully we’ll be able to come up with a more specific ID for you. There are identification charts online for the ventral (belly side) markings by species of Araneus. Thanks for being curious!
