Is this even a spider? If so, what is it please? Almost thought i might even be an ant. Have never seen one before.

Definitely not a spider, but might be a beetle of some kind.

It’s a beetle, but I don’t recognize it.
Insects have 6 legs, spiders usually have 8, but some have 6 or fewer. You’re right that the two antennae are a way to tell that it is an insect. In the United States most beetles that have the shape of the one in the photo have common names that are in the form of: ‘name of host plant’ + ‘borer.’ The larvae feed on the plant that the beetle is named for.
