Anyone know what this is? It's huge and made a web in front of my house connected to a bush to the house itself. I keep telling myself it's harmless and outside so no worries. :/

I have never seen this irl. Very rare House Dwelling Spidimus Maximus. They are known for taking homes over in cooler weather. If this was by your house it most likely is now inside. With all of its friends and off spring. I suggest fumigation asap. These bite and bite area swells up and gives you paralysis. Second thought, better off burning down your house.

Ignore the troll, I think your spider was a very pretty Araneus diadematus. It was an orbweaver type of spider. There is nothing to fear. Orbweavers make big round strong webs and eat lots of bugs. They don’t attack people or anything bigger than themselves because that would just be really dangerous for them and pointless. Sometimes spiders bite people but it is because they feel their life is in danger because the human is holding it too tight or accidentally squishing it.
