The underside of the abdomen had a golden sheen

The markings on the underbelly don’t look particularly hourglass, but the spider looks like a widow to me?
This looks a lot like a False Widow Spider, one of the Steatoda species in the family Theridiidae. Were there any white markings on the upper side of the abdomen?
Thanks Calum, I couldn’t see the topside, afte I took the photo it disappeared. But it’s web is still there in the corner between the barroom sink cabinet and the wall. I thought it might be a false widow but was unsure because the front 2 legs are longer than the second set of legs and thought that was a sign of a true widow over a false widow. I read male black widow spiders can have yellow or brown markings, but I also read the are 1/2 the size of female and this spider was pretty big… bigger than… Read more »
