barn funnel weaver male
Tegenaria domestica
His body measured about 6mm long, his total leg length was about 12mm, which brings the 50% body/leg ratio that this species can have. He was very photosensitive, I couldn’t keep a dim light shining on him in the dark while I took the photos. He moved away everytime the flash went off. I think he’s male due to his body length and bloated pedipalps. I thought he was a nursery web spider, which also live on that side of my house, but the eyeshine in the anterior angle photo shows the upper row of eyes curving upward rather than downward. The funnel web shown in one photo was about 3 feet away and didn’t have any other live spider associated with it that I could find.

The ruler is in centimeters but automatic cropping leaves just the marks for milimeters visible.
