Does anyone recognize this spider?
Offhand, possibly something in the Nephila genus (golden silk weavers) due to the gold color and the shape of the nesting webbing. Nephila clavipes is the only species that is said to be indigenous to North America.
Cross orbweavers have gold nests too, if she’s Araneus diadematus, she doesn’t look well.
