I thought it was maybe a kind of jumping spider, it moves pretty quickly and jumps pretty far. He’s kind of fuzzy and cute. Found on a deck right by the Atlantic if that helps.

Male bold jumping spider. What a handsome man! Always very curious and harmless spiders.

I love jumping spiders – and yes he is a fine specimen of a Jumper. Once when I was much, much younger, I encountered another fine Jumper on the handle of the frig. I didn’t see it until I had my hand on the handle, and being startled (ok, scared ), I jumped before it could, but forgot to let go… For just a bit I thought that box was going to fall. Thank goodness no one was home to see.
