This looks like one of the jumping spider varieties…they are very beneficial. I get them coming into the house this time of year — when it starts to get cooler. I just capture them carefully and re-place them outside away from the doors. They are extremely helpful in the garden controlling pests.

Gladly. They come in so many pretty colors. I enjoy watching the large black ones go after bugs etc in the summer. Happy holiday season.
I think that this is a female canopy jumping spider, phidippus otiosus.
