It was crawling on my tire and I knocked it off , it retracted its legs around its body. I never saw one of this type and I am interested in knowing what it is and should I be concerned if it ends up in my back yard where my dogs play.

Just looking to find out type of spider and whether I should be concerned if it makes its way to my back yard and near my dogs
Hi, I think she’s a Hentz orbweaver, Neoscona crucifera. Orbweavers are not a dangerous spider to people or dogs. Here’s the fine print: All spiders have some venom for killing prey and for causing a little pit of pain to larger animals that they feel are endangering them.
