Comments & ID Thoughts

These seem to be the most common, Last year, we had the opportunity to get a great look at a Brown Recluse (unfortunately) he couldn't be moved to another area. I have a pointer mix"Romeo"that is obsessed with chasing rats that come down from multiple neighbors palm trees, his nose stays in our brick planters, fire wood stacks, etc. My son saw a spider on his neck area & swatted it off, it injured the spider, I quickly got my spider tweezers and jar of alcohol. The marking was clear-violin shape. Unfortunately, I no longer have the pictures and at the time didn't know this site or similar existed. Sorry got off topic, would appreciate all info of spider in picture I included. I'm also going to send a few amazing Black widow pictures I took outside a store

Uh, you have “spider tweezers?!” I have emergency tick removal tools. I would’ve expected ticks or fleas from the rats to be more of a risk for your dog. I have a dog with long curly fur that stuffs his nose into any smelly nature spots too. I pulled 2 or 3 ticks off of his head in November. They’re probably more of a problem here in New England. We welcome more cool photos if you have them. I don’t know your current spider, but we’ll come up with some info for you.
