Orb weaver of some kind. There are two spiders in this photo; the much larger weaver and a small ???.

That is one of the Golden Silk Orb Weavers, one of the Nephila species. Nice photo. That’s the tiny male above her on the web.
Thanks! Considering it’s the only species endemic to North and South America, my guess is Nephila clavipes (AKA Banana Spider). See also comments on other similar photos.
