I need to know what the spider is, size of approximately 15cm, meeting place Panama City, Panama, Gamboa, Pipelineroad, near Gatun Lake, Panama Canal, 9pm It was not spiderweb but if it had fabric
Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks like a male Orbweaver but I don’t recognize him beyond that from this angle. Do you have a dorsal shot? The turreted eyes and the palps (appendages near the spider’s mouth) look distinctive but I’m not familiar enough with species in Panama to recognize it straight away.
thanks for answering, the spider did not cooperate to make decent shots, I had made a wheel and not bother her, that’s the best image I have, what I miss is the shape of the eyes, not the same as the most common weavers, I think it’s the most correct id
I think this is a great shot, just not ideal for the beginnings of an ID. It’s not hopeless, it might be narrowed down eventually.
