I was thinking in orb weaver but it’s making a rather odd web in the corners of the cage I put it in. Does anyone know if that is common to a specific type orb weaver cuz that’s what she looks like. But the web is completely wrong
Hi, she’s Araneus diadematus, a cross orbweaver. She’s doing her best. Orbweavers make huge circular (orb) webs with bands radiating from the middle. Someone recently said her orbweaver spider had a 15 foot wide web. If you let her out of the cage she would be able to follow her instincts. When they live loose in a house the webs are still fairly small. The kitchen sink area is best in a house because she can drink water droplets and eat fruit flies and grain moths.
