Comments & ID Thoughts

Is this an nursery web spider or a fishing spider? Grey, brown, white. About 2 inches in diameter.

Looks like it’s doing the ‘X’ thing with its front legs like a Nursery Web Spider (Family Pisauridae) and the pattern and body shape seem to line up. Unsure about the genus/species, though.

I agree with the nursery web spider tought, based on leg positions and body shape, but after some research, I could find no similar species.

My first thought based on posture was a fishing spider, but I also couldn’t find any fishing spider species that matched. The eyes do seem more like a fishing spider than a nursery web, though.

I couldn’t find any similar fishing spider either.
