Looks like a juvenile phidippus audax.
Yes it is exactly that!! What should I do to rescue him and keep him safe until spring comes ? It is winter now and pouring him outside will most probably kill him
Keep him in a large ventilated container for housing, medium to small crickets should be the best food for him. They should be pretty cheap at any pet store near you
In a makeshift terrarium I gave him water dirt, soil and fruit flies …hopefully he’ll make it until spring so can let him go into nature
