Looks like a St Andrews cross spider, which is named for its habit of holding its legs together in pairs whilst sitting on its web so it looks like the St Andrews cross It has been postulated that this is to make it look less like a spider to potential prey. Not sure whether that’s correct, but an interesting idea though. Quite common in Sydney.
