You got it! Your Araneus marmorous also looks like she has deposited her autumn eggs. Her abdomen isn’t big and round now. The eggs and any early hatchlings can survive freezing temperatures and resume growth in the spring. Since they are safe from most insect predators this time of year and there isn’t enough flying insects to catch in a web, she is free to roam and catch insects on the ground and drink from precipitation water droplets.
